From its foundation the College has benefitted from the generosity of benefactors and philanthropists.
It has been the culture of involvement and philanthropic giving from alumni and friends of the College that has allowed Methody to grow and develop throughout the century and a half of its existence.
The refurbishment of School House and McArthur Hall are testimony to what we can achieve with your support. Work has commenced at Pirrie Park on the new hockey pitches, changing rooms and extended sports facilities; expanding the opportunities for our pupils to engage in activities that will improve their mental as well as their physical well-being. Beyond that we want to improve our dining facilities, create a fitness and dance facility, build new science laboratories, refurbish the Chapel of Unity and modernise all of the remaining classrooms and learning spaces.
Our plans are ambitious, but with your support and the support of the Methodist College community they are achievable. Together, we will be providing learning environments that will contribute to the development of young people with the talent, skills and ambition to shape the future.
Gifts of every size make a genuine difference and will enrich the lives of pupils, now and in the future.
Ways To Donate
Donate Now: You can make a single gift and/or set up a monthly, quarterly or annual contribution securely online.
By Post or in Person: Download and complete our Donation Form .
Bequests: Legacies are one of the most important ways for alumni to ensure that the College continues to flourish in the years ahead. Any legacy bequeathed to the school will be used for the direct benefit of pupils of the school. Contact us to discuss further.
Corporate Matching Gifts: These are often available from corporations that match their employees’ contributions to charities such as the College.
Company Giving: Procedures have been streamlined to assist companies to reclaim tax on gifts to charities. The company simply pays a gross figure to the school and claims tax relief on charitable donations when preparing the corporation tax return.
Donating Shares: This is an attractive method of maximising the benefit of a donation to the school and minimising income and capital gains tax liability to the donor. If you are interested in making a gift of shares, please contact the development office. Given that individual circumstances vary from person to person, we recommend that you also seek the guidance of your accountant or financial advisor.
Payroll Giving: If your employer operates a payroll giving scheme, any donation to the school is automatically deducted from your gross salary before you pay tax, so higher rate taxpayers need not remember to reclaim relief through self-assessment.
