Drama

At Methody pupils enjoy a vibrant and enriching range of opportunities to explore their creativity and develop their talents in drama, with tailored experiences available throughout both Junior and Senior School. While Junior School pupils immerse themselves in workshops and productions, Senior School pupils engage in a programme of performances, theatre experiences and leadership opportunities, such as:

Senior Shows

Each year, our Senior pupils have the opportunity to take part in large‑scale school productions, bringing together acting, movement, music and technical theatre. These shows allow students to refine their craft, collaborate with peers, and showcase their talents on a public stage. Recent productions have included Legally Blonde, Little Shop of Horrors, and Chicago, offering pupils a wide variety of performance styles and genres to explore.

Theatre Trips

To deepen their understanding of live performance, Senior School pupils regularly attend professional theatre productions. Past trips have featured acclaimed shows such as Blood Brothers, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, and The Woman in Black. Experiencing live theatre firsthand allows pupils to broaden their artistic perspectives and enhances their appreciation of diverse theatrical techniques.

Leadership Through Drama

Senior pupils also have the chance to take on leadership roles by assisting in Junior Drama lessons and clubs. Acting as mentors and role models, they help younger pupils build confidence and performance skills while developing their own communication and leadership abilities.

Annual Workshops With Theatre Companies

Each year, pupils participate in practical workshops led by professional theatre companies and leading practitioners. In previous years, pupils have taken part in dynamic sessions with Bruiser Theatre Company and Frantic Assembly, gaining hands‑on experience with physical theatre, ensemble work and devising techniques.
