Episode 4 - Laura Philips

Episode 4 features Laura Philips former Pupil who now works for the United Nations.

Laura Philips chats about life working in the United Nations World Food Prgramme, sharing about some of the projects she has been involved in. In 2020 she was part of a team that won the Nobel Peace Prize for work in advancing food security.

Laura also shares her memories of life in Methody and the impact it had and where that has led her to in her career, and gives great advice on how we can be 'Great by Choice'.

Episode 3 - Anna Pim

Episode 3 features Anna Pim our Deputy Head Girl at Methody. In December 2022 she was selected as a finalist for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in the ‘Unsung Hero’ category and was subsequently awarded the Sport NI SportMaker - Project of the Year award for her Heart of the Game initiative. Anna is an Irish U18 International hockey player and was Co-Captain of our 1st XI Hockey team last year who won the Ulster Schools’ Cup and the Kate Russell All Ireland trophy last year.

In this episode Sofia Gray, our Head Girl, talks to Anna about what she has learnt from her time at Methody, her achievements as a hockey player and her creation and implementation of ‘At the Heart of the Game’ initiative.

Anna gives some great advice on you too could be ‘Great by Choice’!

Episode 2 - Amy Hunter and Emma Quinn

Episode 2 features Amy Hunter and Emma Quinn. Amy Hunter is a Methody 6th Form student who is an Ireland International Cricket player. She scored 121 not out against Zimbabwe on 5th October 2021 to become the youngest cricketer to score a century in one-day cricket. This was also the highest individual score for Ireland in a Woman's One Day International match.

Emma Quinn is a PE teacher at Methody. She is an Ireland International hockey player and plays for Pegasus Ladies Hockey Club.

They talk to Mr Gallagher about their experiences in International sport and give advice on how to be ‘Great by Choice’.

Episode 1 - Christina Bennington

Episode 1 features our Prize Day speaker Christina Bennington. Star of stage and screen actor Christina is best known for creating the leading role of Raven in Jim Steinman's Bat Out of Hell the Musical which she performed in Manchester, Toronto and New York. Christina is also former Head Girl at Methody where she was a keen participant in many activities, especially in the Drama and Music Departments.

For this podcast, she is interviewed by Peter Unsworth and Hannah Gheel with Joel Gheel and James Bryan responsible for the production of the video and audio.
