All absences and appointment requests such as medical appointments should now be reported via the School Gateway app. Details concerning this process were recently sent home to all parents. You may also contact school using the Schoolcomms system (for which you must have registered) using the number 01287244005. Please ensure you text before 9.00am.

Please text (or phone) on each day of absence. If you have signed up to our App or Schoolcomms system you will receive a text if your child is neither in Tutor group registration nor registered elsewhere in the school and we have not received a text or telephone call from you.

As you are aware, we ask that medical appointments, family holidays etc. are arranged outside school hours. However, in exceptional circumstances, if your son/daughter has to miss part of a day, a full day or more than one day then you should contact the school via the App or Schoolcomms system. All requests for planned absence should be made at least three days in advance.

Alternatively parents may contact the appropriate Administrative Assistant by phone (see below) who will record the details, or you can leave a message via voicemail.

Transport Arrangements

The College does not provide special bus services for pupils. Pupils use the main Translink bus and train services for travelling to and from school.

The decision regarding pupil eligibility for a bus or train pass lies with the Education and Library Board for the area in which the pupil lives. The College will distribute travel passes after they have been issued but the original application must be made to the Board. Once a pupil has been accepted into the College, an application form for a travel pass can be obtained from the Education & Library Board website or the College Rolls & Records Department. The form should be completed and returned to the Rolls & Records Deptartment in order to be signed/stamped before being sent to the Board for a decision on eligibility/a travel pass to be issued. For pupils already at the College, it may be necessary to reapply each September as the Education and Library Boards do not always automatically reissue a travel pass, particularly in the case of 5th form pupils entering the Sixth form.

Provisional Exam Results 2015

Congratulations to our 5th and 6th Formers on their impressive performance in this year’s public examinations. The percentage of presentations achieving the top A*A grade exceeds significantly the Northern Ireland and UK averages and we are delighted for our 6th Form leavers who are moving on to courses and careers at the next level.

Form 4 Collection of GCSE Results

For Form 4 pupils who completed at least one GCSE module examination in Geography, LLW, Religious Studies or Technology. The results from these modules will be available from 10.00am – 10.30am in the school Whitla Hall on Thursday 22^nd August 2024.

Please be aware pupils will have only completed a module for a particular subject and therefore will only receive a mark for that paper and not the final grade. If the pupil would rather not collect their result on Thursday 22^nd August 2024, their results will be handed out to them in tutor group on Wednesday 28^th August 2024, which is the start of the new academic year.

Form 5 Collection of GCSE Results

As GCSE examinations are coming to a close, here are some details how to collect your GCSE results.

The results will be available on Thursday 22^nd August 2024. Pupils should collect their results in an envelope between 9.00am – 9.30am from the school Whitla Hall. GCSE results are not available online as with A Level results. If a pupil cannot collect their envelope at this time there are a few alternative options.

A family member or another pupil can collect the envelope of a pupil but only if the school has been contacted beforehand, giving the name of the alternative person who will be collecting the envelope. Please send a Schoolcomms message in to this effect on the usual number or leave the details at reception.
The results envelope will be left at reception after 9.30am and it can be collected, anytime before the end of the school day.
Results cannot be given out over the telephone or scanned in and sent to a pupil.

There will also be information in the envelope if a pupil, based on their examination results, wants to change their choice of A Level subjects.

Every effort will be made to accommodate a change in subject. However, pupils should be aware that there could be constraints to any request based on either the combination of subjects chosen or the existing size of the classes involved.

It may also be necessary, based on the examination results, that a pupil must have an interview with a member of the Careers Department. If this is the case there will be a note to that effect in the envelope.

Requesting Exam Certificates

It is the pupil's responsibility to collect their exam certificates when they become available usually from end of October onwards for exams sat in the summer term]. They will NOT be posted out to the pupil as we require the certificates to be signed for. Pupils at the College should collect GCSE certificates at some time during the course of their 6th form/A-Level studies.

If a pupil leaves the College or if he/she no longer lives locally, a relative or friend can sign for the certificates: just let us know beforehand so that we can check they are here/ have them ready. Certificates will only be posted out in exceptional circumstances and the College will not take any responsibility for certificates that are lost in transit.

If a pupil has lost their certificates, the College cannot replace them and does not have copies. They will need to contact the relevant exam boards to order replacement certificates.
