How To Donate

From its very foundation in 1865, the College has benefitted from the generosity of its benefactors. It has been this on-going culture of involvement and philanthropic giving from friends and alumni of the College that has allowed Methody to grow and develop throughout the almost century and a half of its existence.

We are focusing on an ambitious and exciting programme of capital development and refurbishment that can only be realised with the help and support of the wider College community to include not only friends and alumni of the College but also companies, charitable trusts and other grant giving organisations to support College projects, pupils and development.

Together, we will be providing learning environments that will contribute to the development of young people with the talent and the determination to shape the future.  Developing our facilities will create spaces that will enhance the values based educational experience the College provides, ensuring that we will continue to produce leaders, wealth generators and change makers.

Your gift to the College will benefit the pupils now and in the future!

Donating Shares: This is an attractive method of maximising the benefit of a donation to the school and minimising income and capital gains tax liability to the donor.

Securely Online:  You can make a single gift and/or set up a monthly, quarterly or annual contribution to the school by clicking here.

Post or in Person: Download and complete our Donation Form .

Payroll Giving: If your employer operates a payroll giving scheme, any donation to the school is automatically deducted from your gross salary before you pay tax, so higher rate taxpayers need not remember to reclaim relief through self-assessment.

Company Giving: Procedures have been streamlined to assist companies to reclaim tax on gifts to charities. The company simply pays a gross figure to the school and claims tax relief on charitable donations when preparing the corporation tax return.

Bequests: Legacies are one of the most important ways for alumni to ensure that the College continues to flourish in the years ahead. Any legacy bequeathed to the school will be used for the direct benefit of pupils of the school.

Corporate Matching Gifts: These are often available from corporations that match their employees’ contributions to charities such as the College.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Corporate Partners for their support in the academic year. We are delighted to work alongside you, with your support we can ensure that Methodist College Belfast continues to flourish.
