Food & Nutrition at MCB
A fun filled day was had by at the MCB Platinum Jubilee Bake Off.
To win a place at the Bake Off final, pupils were asked to sketch an illustration of their Jubilee themed cake. From these sketches 10 finalists were chosen to come along and produce what they had illustrated.
The standard, creativity, and talent displayed was outstanding. Judges, teachers, and staff in the College commented on the calm, collective and professional approach the bakers took to the challenge.
A big thank you to our judging panel who took time out of their busy schedules to come and judge and add to the fun that was had by all - Stephen Jeffers from Forestside Cookery School, Brian Haslett and Mark Irvine from the Gourmet Boys, Marty O'Neill from Dish You Were Here, Victoria Nicol from Two Sisters and Janet Unsworth, Chair of the Board of Governors.
They had a tough decision on crowning the MCB Bake Off winner but after lots of tasting and light-hearted debate, Ava Herron was awarded our Bake-Off champion and Isabelle Conlon runner up, both of which are in Form 1.
