Top tip!

Current Pupils can stay up to date with what is going on in school by keeping an eye on the
News Section, which features stories about pupil achievements right across the school.

From First Form to Upper Sixth, the news section celebrates success stories from academic to sporting, drama to music as well as reviews of many of the events and trips that pupils take part in.

A-Levels - Enquiries and Appeals 2015

On receiving their results pupils may wish to make an enquiry or appeal about a particular result. The options are explained in the following documents: please click on the relevant link below.

Upper 6th Options for Remarks & Scripts
Lower 6th Options for Remarks and Scripts
AS/A2 Order Form and Prices for Remarks and Scripts

GCSEs - Enquiries and Appeals about Results

On receiving their results pupils may wish to make an enquiry or appeal about a particular GCSE result. A summary document of the GCSE Options for Remarks & Scripts can be found here.

If a pupil does want to make an enquiry or appeal they must:

- Check the grade boundaries of a particular examination with the relevant Head of Department
- Collect an application form from Mrs Sutton in M21/2, Reception or download the GCSE Remark Form from the school website
- Complete the form and return it to Mrs Sutton along with the relevant fee which must include a £5.00 administration cost. Cheques are made payable to Methodist College
- Bring their Candidate Statement of Results along with the form so that all details may be checked.

It must be noted that a controlled assessment or practical module cannot be remarked.

Priority Access to Scripts - English and Mathematics

This year CCEA is introducing a Priority Access to Scripts service for GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English Language only. This means that candidates will be able to apply for access to a photocopy of their English Language and/or Mathematics scripts without having to require a remark.

The closing date for submission of request for this priority access is 27th August 2015. Candidates may request photocopies of Unit 1 and/or Unit 2 for English Language and any combination of Unit 3 or 4 and Unit 5 or 6 for Mathematics but a fee will be charged for each individual module requested. However, both Unit 5 and Unit 6 consist of 2 papers, one calculator and one non calculator and both of these papers must be requested at the same time at a fee of £9.00 per paper. There will also be a £5.00 administration charge which will cover the entire application.

To apply for this priority access the candidate must complete the relevant application form, which is a different form to the one for normal Enquiries and Appeals about Results. This form may be collected from Reception, M2½ or download a copy of the GCSE Script Form from the school website.

This must be returned to Mrs Sutton in M21/2 on Friday 21st August, Wednesday 26th August or Thursday 27th August ONLY between 8.30 am – 12.30 pm. On receiving the photocopy of the examination paper, a pupil can then decide to apply for a remark in the normal way, if required.

Welcome to Form One!

New pupils coming to Methody sometimes find it all a bit daunting. There are a lot of changes to get used to after being at primary school. That is why there is a booklet aimed especially at First Form pupils, designed to introduce them to the school and helping them settle into Methody as quickly as possible.

Copies of the booklet will be available at the Induction Evening [held in June so pupils can meet their tutor group before starting at Methody in September] and by clicking here or on image below

ACHIEVEMENT IN SPORT: NEW COLOURS /HONOURS SYSTEM 2015 [Feb 2015]

Following a lengthy review process in consultation with pupils, staff and the Board of Governors, a new Colours/Honours system for achievement in sport has been implemented.

Please click here to read the details of the new system and the criteria that are used in making these Awards.

Any queries about this system should be addressed to the Head of PE in the first instance.

EXAM CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE FOR JUNE 2014 EXAMS - PLEASE COLLECT

It is the pupil's responsibility to collect his/her exam certificates when they become available [usually from end of October onwards for exams sat in the summer term]. They will NOT be posted out to the pupil as we require the certificates to be signed for. Pupils at the College should collect GCSE certificates at some time during the course of their 6th form/A-Level studies.

If a pupil leaves the College or if he/she no longer lives locally, a relative or friend can sign for the certificates: just let us know beforehand so that we can check they are here/ have them ready. Certificates will only be posted out in exceptional circumstances and the College will not take any responsibility for certificates that are lost in transit.

If a pupil has lost their certificates, the College cannot replace them and does not have copies. They will need to contact the relevant exam boards to order replacement certificates.
