Exam Results 2010

In the first year of the new A* grade at A Level the Upper 6th pupils at Methodist College excelled themselves. Over 1/5 of our presentations achieved the A* grade with over 1/3 of the year group leaving the College with 3A*A passes or better. These are amongst the top grades in the country.

This high level of performance was repeated at AS level with over 1/3 of the pupils achieving 3 A passes or better, with 39 pupils obtaining 4 A passes.

Not to be outdone, 2/3 of our presentations at GCSE were awarded an A*A grade. 30.7% of our 5th Formers (78 pupils) achieved 10 or more A*A passes.

The table below shows our results compared to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland averages at each level, and the Maintained and Independent sectors at A level.

I would like to extend my congratulations to all of our pupils, their parents and the staff who worked together to produce such an impressive set of results at all levels.

Each of the pupils moving forward to the next level of study has a firm foundation on which to build future success. The challenge for all of us is to strive to meet, and if possible exceed, our targets for the new academic year.
