150 Miles From Malin to Methody

On the 24th August 1865, Sir William McArthur laid the foundation stone of the College. Three years later, on the 18th August 1868, the College was officially opened. To mark the start of Methody's 150th year and to raise funds for the College, the Principal will walk 150 miles from McArthur's birthplace in Malin, following a route along the north coast, to the College.

On the last leg of the walk, from Pirrie Park, he will be joined by the new First Form, the 150th intake. They will be welcomed by current staff and pupils to a celebratory Fair being held in the grounds of the College from 2pm to 4pm on Friday 24th August.

You will be able to follow the Principal's progress on Twitter @MethodyBelfast.

ALL funds raised by the Walk and the Fair will go towards the development of facilities for the pupils. The College has a fundraising target of £5 million for the development of School House, the hockey pitches and changing rooms at Pirrie Park and the Chapel. The Principal has set a minimum target of £15,000 for this event, with an aspirational target of £150,000. Please make a donation to support the development of the College. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated by the current and future pupils. The refurbished McArthur Hall is evidence of what we can achieve. Help us to make the next step in the development of the College equally impressive and transformational.
